The goal of this Code of Conduct is to establish clear and fair rules for the use of the space, equipment, and other resources of Bardak Ceramics Studio, in order to ensure a safe, orderly, and efficient environment for all users. Every person who uses the studio space and equipment is required to comply with the following rules. By starting work in the studio, it is understood that the user has been informed of this Code and agrees to its provisions.
Use of Materials
-
The material included in the course price is limited to a maximum of 10 kg of clay per course cycle.
-
In each Standard Course session, you may keep a maximum of three works. This limit applies to each individual session and is not cumulative.
-
You may use your own materials (clay, glazes, engobes, oxides, hobby paints, overglaze or underglaze paints, decals, etc.) only with the educator’s approval, which must be obtained separately for each material.
-
The use of materials unsafe for food (containing heavy metals), materials that release toxic fumes during firing, as well as organic matter, glass, or metals that can damage the kiln, is strictly prohibited.
-
The size of works made during a session must not exceed 25 × 25 × 25 cm. If the work exceeds these dimensions along any axis, a surcharge of 50 RSD per centimeter of excess will apply.
Production, Firing, and Storage of Works
-
The technological process of creating a work lasts 3 to 4 weeks, which means it is not possible to complete all works started during one cycle. All works will be fired to the stage they have reached, while unfinished works can be completed by paying for an additional session, or when you resume a new cycle. This does not apply to the Mini Course, where the last session is reserved for decoration once the works are finished.
-
Each calendar month, the studio guarantees one bisque and one glaze firing. Works that are ready at that time will be fired, while those that are not will wait for the next firing.
-
We reserve the right not to fire works that are technically faulty and could damage the kiln or other works. We also do not fire works containing materials other than standard clay and glazes, such as newspapers, glass, metal, fabric, grains, etc.
-
Works and belongings left in the studio after the completion of an educational program will be kept for up to 30 days, after which they will be removed due to limited storage space. If you do not receive a message to collect your works, you must contact us within this period to avoid losing them.
-
Touching other people’s belongings on the shelves, especially works in progress, is strictly prohibited.
Use of Studio Space, Tools, and Literature
-
During your time in the studio, all users are expected to behave responsibly and carefully, especially when working with materials and equipment that may pose health risks. Educators are responsible for instructing you on the safe use of tools, machines, and materials, and for providing necessary protective equipment. Special care must be taken when using the hot air gun.
-
All users are required to clean tools, machines, and work surfaces of clay, paint, and other residues after use. After using the pottery wheel, the wheel, bowls, and tools must be thoroughly cleaned.
-
Users are responsible for their own materials, tools, and works.
-
All literature available in the workspace (books, magazines, notes, etc.) may be used during your stay in the studio, but taking it outside the studio is not allowed.
-
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all parts of the workspace, including the use of electronic devices that produce vapor or smoke.
-
The studio reserves the right to photograph the creative process. If you do not wish to be photographed, you must inform the educator. In that case, any photos of you will be deleted or your face will be blurred before possible use for internal or promotional purposes.
-
The studio reserves the right to photograph works created during classes and to use these photographs for promotional and educational purposes, unless a participant explicitly requests otherwise. In that case, photos of that participant’s works will not be published.
-
A reserved place in a course applies exclusively to one person. Bringing companions, children, or pets who do not participate in the program is not allowed.
-
Polite behavior and respect toward all participants and educators are expected at all times. If you have any complaints, you can contact us by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
-
The studio reserves the right to warn or, in more serious cases, remove from class any person who disrupts the working atmosphere, insults other participants or educators, or fails to comply with this Code of Conduct.
Disclaimer of Liability and Work Risks
-
Bardak Ceramics Studio is committed to providing a safe, orderly, and inspiring working environment for all participants in courses, workshops, and independent work. However, due to the nature of the activities, working with tools, machines, high temperatures, chemicals, and fragile materials carries inherent risks. This Code of Conduct defines the studio’s limitations of liability as well as the obligations and responsibilities of users.
-
All users of the studio space, including course participants, independent workers, and guest artists, participate in activities at their own risk. The studio is not responsible for bodily injuries, allergic reactions, or other health issues that may arise during your stay or while handling materials and equipment, provided that the educator has given instructions on use and supplied the prescribed protective equipment.
-
Work involving glazes, paints, oxides, electric kilns, and tools such as scalpels, knives, hot air guns, and drills requires mandatory use of protective equipment and compliance with the educator’s instructions. Users must not use any material or equipment without prior training and approval. Failure to comply means the user assumes full responsibility for any harm to themselves, others, or damage to the space, equipment, or other participants’ works.
-
The studio is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings, private materials, tools, or works left in the studio.
-
In the event of vandalism, fire, flood, earthquake, epidemics, or other force majeure events, as well as technical malfunctions (e.g., kiln or electrical failure), the studio cannot be held responsible for loss of works, delays, or inability to use the space. In such cases, participants will be offered appropriate solutions, within realistic possibilities.
-
Users are required to treat equipment, materials, and other participants’ works with care. In cases of intentional or clearly negligent damage to studio equipment, tools, or other works, the user may be held liable for repair or replacement costs.
Amendments to the Code of Conduct
-
Bardak Ceramics Studio reserves the right to amend or supplement this Code of Conduct at any time. All changes will be promptly published on the official website and displayed in the studio space.
-
Amendments come into effect 14 days after the date of publication and display. During this period, all current and future participants will be clearly informed.
-
If a current course participant does not accept the new conditions, they have the right to use their remaining prepaid sessions under the version of the Code that was valid at the time of payment.
-
This version of the Code of Conduct comes into effect on September 1, 2025.
